Guidelines & Requirements
- Online Competition
This is online photography competition. All entries to be submitted online, via the platform only and will need to adhere to the theme.
- Eligibility
The Photography Competition is open to amateur and professional photographers of Indian nationality, aged 16+ years, as of the registration day.
- Registration Fee
Fee once paid will not be refunded.
- Theme
“The Earth We Share”. More details available under the theme tab.
- No. of Entries
Each participant is required to submit 2 entries, both adhering to theme "The Earth We Share".
- Captions
Every entry should be captioned. Entries with captions like “Not Applicable”, “Untitled”, “Unknown” or similar vague headings will stand disqualified.
- Editing
- Basic Editing standards for enhancement, such as brightness, minor colour corrections, contrast, tone, brightness are acceptable.
- Cropping: The contents of a photograph should not be altered by adding, rearranging, reversing, distorting or removing living creatures and/or objects from within the frame. There are two exceptions: (i) Cropping that removes extraneous details is permitted; (ii) Removing sensor dust or scratches on scans of negatives is permitted.
- Original EXIF Files will be required as proof and needs to be submitted when requested for.
- No Manipulations
The photos should not be manipulated to change visual content of image. Manipulation of pictures and using editing software to place additional elements in the picture will lead to disqualification.
- File Format
- Accepted formats: JPEG / JPG only.
- File Size: 300 DPI, not less than 2 Mb and not more than 5 Mb each.
- At least 2000 pixels at the longest edge, no upper pixel limit.
- If required, only JPEG File compression may be allowed, at highest quality setting.
- Name, signature, water marks, border, company name etc are not to be affixed on the pictures or the captions. Such entries will be disqualified.
- Submission Deadline
- All entries will need to be submitted before the deadline lapses.
- Participants are advised not to wait till the last minute to submit entries. Once the participant submits their entries no changes will be allowed.
- Original Self Clicked pictures, with full copyright ownership
All entries must be original pictures, clicked by the participant only. The participant should have copyright to the pictures. Entries that are plagiarised, violate copyright, trademarks, intellectual property, or lifting pics off the internet and claiming as own will be instantly disqualified.
- No Logos
Please ensure the submitted photographs do not contain your name, signature, logo or any watermarks. Such entries will be disqualified.
- Accurate Contact Details
All communication with participants will be through a combination of E-mail and Mobile. Hence, accurate valid details and checking for regular communication is the participant's sole responsibility.
- Appropriate content
Photos that portray violence, inappropriate content, violation of animal or human rights, or contents contrary to the law, religious, cultural & moral traditions and practices of India are prohibited and such entries will be disqualified.
- Additional Requirements
- Shortlisted participants will be required to provide the following for authentication to move ahead in the competition:
- RAW FILES in specified file formats to further process the application.
- Unchanged EXIF Details. Images where such details are not available or not provided are liable to be discarded.
- A personal interview with jury panel – the format of an audio or video interview will be at the discretion of Organizer and the Jury Panel.
- Decision of Jury
The decision of Jury and Judges is final and binding on all participants.
- Fraud Prevention
In order to rule out fraud, shortlisted and winning entries will be required to furnish government approved proof of identity, residence.
- Prize Redemption
Winning entries may be required to open bank accounts in a specific bank as well, to receive cash prizes. Indian tax rules as applicable for cash prizes.

Prizes are valid for a period of 9 months from the date awarded and will have to be redeemed and completed within this time period. The winners bear full responsibility to redeem and utilize the fantastic and generous prizes on time
Lapsed prizes cannot be revived

Jury Speak - Chairman of the Jury panel, Mr. Jayant Sharma - CEO, Toehold Photography speaks about the Jury process
The Photo Competition is juried by an expert Jury Panel, consisting of reputed photographers and teachers of the craft. This will enable aspiring teen photographers to get invaluable insights on how to improve and enhance their skills and abilities, whilst also gaining valuable exposure.
To preserve the sanctity of the competition & the jury process, the names of our expert jury panel will made public just a week before the competition results are announced.
The jury process and how it works
1) Telling the Theme story : The Earth We Share
- Every Photograph will first be assessed on how well it tells the theme story.
- Relevance
- Clarity of theme expression
- Interpretation

- Creative, original photographs
2) Composition
3) Technical Ability: Colour, Lighting, Clarity, Quality of pics
4) Audience Impact: Humour, creativity, memorability
5) Social Impact: Inspiration, newsworthiness
6) Adherence to competition rules
Jury Panel + Public Voting
The final result will be a combination of Jury Panel and public votes in a predefined ratio. It is in the interest of the participant to forward the entries, once published on Aarts Maestro Showcase, onto Social Media handles, generate maximum interest & votes for their work.
Participants will be sent a link on their registered mail id. The link may be socialized for public votes.
All votes should be on the Aarts Maestro Platform only. Votes garnered on any other social media platform will not be considered for the competition.
