Objectives

- Engage: Students become ambassadors against drug use and through powerful communication, they communicate this message to peers as well as adults. The consequences of drug use are unpleasant and long lasting

- Prevent: Eliminate the incidence of drug abuse by promoting a culture of health and wellness.
Target Audience
The competition is open to students and young adults aged between 10 - 22. The 3 age groups for participation are Tweens ( 10 - 13 years ) | Teens ( 14 - 17 ) and Youth ( 18 - 22 ). Schools, colleges, and community organizations across India are also encouraged to participate and support the initiative. The future of our country and planet is happy and healthy youth!
Categories and Activities
Participants can enter the competition through various categories. Please go to the respective category to participate in the same
- Art: Poster and drawing competitions highlighting anti-drug messages, incorporating Indian cultural elements.
- Writing: Essay, poem, and short story contests that discuss the impact of drugs and the benefits of a drug-free life, with a focus on local contexts.
- Performing Arts: Skits, plays, mime, dance performances, music performances & puppetry conveying anti-drug themes, including from traditional Indian art forms.
- Digital Media: Short film and video contest showcasing the dangers of drug use and promoting healthy alternatives. This can be in English, Hindi or any other Indian Language. While all languages are welcome, "Silent films" that transcend language but produce great impact will get jury preference.
Entries will be judged based on creativity, originality, relevance to the theme, and the overall impact of the message. Prizes include certificates, scholarships, trophies, and public recognition. Special consideration will be given to entries that leverage diversity and richness of Indian culture to convey the message.

- Prize Redemption
Winners (parents/guardians in case of minors) will be required to furnish government approved proof of identity & residence. Local tax rules as applicable for cash prizes. Declaring and paying taxes is the participants responsibility. All cash prizes will only be transferred to respective bank accounts of winners (or parents in case the winner is a minor and does not hold a joint account with parent). Neither Cash nor UPI Transfers will be possible
- Disqualification & Reasons Thereof
- Every participant will create the content for their own oration, based on the theme. Plagiarised content will be instantly disqualified
- Reading out essays, poetry or songs related to the theme, written by other writers, poets etc. will also result in disqualification
- Exceeding the prescribed time limits of 2 minutes and 30 seconds
- Reading verbatim from a prepared speech - this is an oratory competition. While participants may have notes or cards, reading from the same will result in disqualification. Participants are expected to deliver their prepared content as an oration
- Use of un-parliamentary, vulgar or provocative language, abusive or insulting words and blasphemy
- Poor video quality
- Audio only file
- Providing false information at the time of registration or subsequently
- Plagiarism - in parts or whole. The Aarts Maestro AI tool is capable of detecting plagiarism
- The entry should not contain any personal details like name, class, section, school, contact numbers etc. Such entry will be disqualified
- Tips to Record a Great Video
- Steady camera, preferably on a stand. Do not shake while recording
- Please use a light coloured or white background
- Bright clothing in contrast colours
- Quiet well-lit, clutter free room with no distractions. Please record in silence - avoid outdoor, terrace, roads, noisy rooms, children running around, Televisions or computers with audio/video on etc
- Place the recording device - mobile or camera about 5-6 feet away from the speaker and adjust height to level with the participant
- Participant should be clearly visible
- If it is a mobile, place it horizontal. Record in Landscape format
- Record in a standing pose
- The recording has to be completed at one shot - seamless recording with no cuts or editing. Cut, Edited videos or videos threaded together will be disqualified

- Begin with a smile & introduce yourself, your age, class and schools and place

- Write your content, review & rehearse it several times - the key to seamless delivery, apart from great content is preparedness
- Ensure you prepare till you hit a level of smooth, seamless, easy, natural delivery. Practice all pauses, intonations, modulations, high and lows - this ensures you can tell a compelling story
- Remember - memorable orators tell a great story. They have a powerful beginning, a great story as the middle and a poignant ending, all of which are delivered well
- Aim for clear, refined speech and impactful delivery, command over language, compelling well researched, well rehearsed content
- Record it 4-5 times and use the best recording of the lot

To preserve the sanctity of the competition & the jury process, the names of our expert jury panel will not be made public until after the results are out.
