Overview
"India writes!" is a prestigious writing platform for the youth of India. A fantastic space for students and youth to showcase and polish communication skills – be it speaking or writing.
It is often said "The Pen is mightier than the Sword". Such is the power of the written word! This is truer than ever - in today’s world of 40 second reels and endless videos that are paused, forwarded or exited, the written word stands for credibility, memorability and lasting impact!
Writing helps students organize and process their thoughts, to learn and remember information, as well as develop analytical and research skills. Writing also enables youth to build self-confidence, fosters creativity, and develop an understanding of the world around them. Writing is the first essential skill that every young adult needs to have for any further pursuits – higher education, employment, or navigate adult life.
Writing & oratory are 2 sides of a coin – important focus areas of a well-rounded education system. Together, they help instill confidence in youngsters and shape their personality, as they grow & take their rightful place in this world. Oratory, elocution and writing are also powerful platforms for positive peer networking and feedback.
Every month, either one or a set of topics are up for debating – either through writing or oration. Participating youth will be required to either write or speak on the topic for the specified time period as per the rules. Topics change monthly and so do deadlines. Please refer to guidelines for further details.
